tsquee: (Twilight - Jake)

Mum's on a diet kick again, which means that when we went grocery shopping today, she nearly flipped her lid when I tried to put ice cream and some vintage Irish cheddar in the cart, and started going off about how I was sabotaging her, and now she's not speaking to me. I'm not terribly upset. I did manage to sneak a box of instant chocolate pudding into the cart and through the check-out line, and I intend to mix it up at around midnight once she's asleep. I'm still debating what sort of container to store the leftovers in that would attract the least amount of attention, lest she discover them and go off on a rant not only about the sabotaging of her diet, but also how she can't trust me and how I'm wasting her money.

When I was at the store, there was a lady, perhaps who was in her mid-twenties, who was showing some Asian exchange students around and telling them to point out anything they thought looked good. It made me miss V; it was so much fun showing her around, and just seeing the wonder that she had at all the differences between America and China. She made it easy to look at things from different perspectives, and made stupidly mundane things seem wonderful and interesting. Yet another person I've managed to spectacularly lose touch with.

I'm getting insanely excited for Trek, and I've gotten all obsessed with the concept of living in a covered wagon, just like I was obsessed with living in a yurt and a teepee and an RV and a dozen other forms of alternative living. I don't know what it is; I think it's the concept of having less stuff and leading a simpler life and just getting back to the basics (she says as she blogs). One of the sisters at church brought in this gorgeous pioneer dress and said that one of us girls could use it. I tried it on and it fit me perfectly, so I guess I'll be wearing it. Don't get me wrong, it's gorgeous and totally wonderfully authentic and I'll look spectacular, but I almost don't want to wear it because the stuff I got on Saturday I bought specifically for me, and for some inexplicable reason that somehow makes me thing that it'll be more comfortable. IDK. I have to hem the dress anyway, it's much too long.

I just went on a massive purge of internet stuff, including deleting my LJ and a bunch of links to fic. It scared me, but I think (hope, pray, beg) it was the right thing to do. I'm now watching a trashy vampire movie parody called Vampires Suck to try to take my mind off of it. It's an absolutely terrible movie, full of toilet humor and bad pop-culture references. Naturally, I love it. Also, the guy who plays Jacob in it, Chris Riggi, is gorgeous:

Still feeling a little weirded out about the whole "buh-buy slash/fandom/etc." thing, and I feel bad about essentially abandoning all the people I met there with no explanation whatsoever. I just couldn't try to keep up the persona I had built up for fandom, and I felt like such a hypocrite.

Off to possibly watch some other trashy movie before crashing for the night.

Not going to military school, shits and buggers. I was so sure I was going to, that it would work out, that I got myself all happy about it, actually got to the point where going sounded not only bearable but enjoyable and exciting. I don't honestly think I've ever been so disappointed. It didn't help that the news came the day that Parental Unit and I were set to leave AZ again. Every time I leave my hometown it's like my heart it being ripped out of my ribcage, stomped on, dragged up the Moki by a truck, and then shoved back in my chest. DNW. I need to get back to Tuba somehow, and I need to do it soon before I have a full-on meltdown. Ms. Therapist says I'm grieving, about Parental Units who don't do what they should and leaving Home and all that beautiful stuff.

I don't know what I'm going to do come fall. I'm supposed to be doing distance classes right now. So far, I'm epically behind on my self-imposed schedule.

In other news, I now officially love Twilight again, and have renewed my love for Harry Potter. The Twilight love happened at the Burger King in K-town when we stopped after the rafting trip, because all the fry boxes and paper cups and cutouts hanging from the ceiling were all about Eclipse coming out, and I don't even know, it's like something in me stopped caring that the books are poorly written and unimaginative and full of one-dimensional characters, because dammit they're fun; and three weeks, a movie, and some Jakeward fic later, I am now Team Emmett/Charlie/Bella'sOldTruck/WolfPack. The renewed Harry Potter love comes from the Deathly Hallows trailer that just came out, which served to remind me that live goes by freakishly fast, and pretty soon possibly the most defining series of my childhood will be over, and I won't be a kid anymore, and that scares the shit out of me.

Am toggling between another window containing a rather adorable Cookleta fic, and just made a Twilight-related joke in my head out of a line in the fic. I might have cracked myself up.

Had a major moral crisis at Girl's Camp last week RE slash. I still don't know. God, talk to me. Please. How can something that strengthens my faith in You and the overwhelming beauty of Your creation possibly be a sin?

Wish I was Navajo. Go figure. Ought to stop before I say too many more random things.
